Alias Reveal is an extension designed to help you find the original items of aliases. When in the Finder, select one or several aliases, then either double-click one of them while pressing the Command key or simply press Command and 'R' at the same time. If the selection contains items that are not aliases, usually nothing happens, but some original items may be displayed (providied that there is at least one alias selected !).
Note that you cannot modify the events that activate Alias Reveal. As a consequence, Alias Reveal may be incompatible with extensions that are activated by the same events. If you use other extensions or control panels, check their settings to be sure that none of them use Command + double-clikc or Command + 'R'.
Alias Reveal won't intercept Command + any other modifiers + 'R' or Command + any other modifiers + double-click. Here, "any other modifiers" refers to any combination of option, control and shift. So, for instance, you can assign Command + option + 'R' or Command + control + shift + double-click to another extension or control panel.
Reveal Alias is freeware. It may be distributed freely, provided that it is unmodified and that it stays with this document. This software may not be sold.
Clean Up requires System 7.5 or later. It should work fine on every Macintosh model.
Be sure to have the “Finder Scripting Extension” installed.
Installation
To install Alias Reveal, just drop it in your Extensions folder inside your System folder. When it is installed, Alias Reveal displays its icon during startup. If the icon is crossed out, then your system doesn't support Alias Reveal (see Requirements above).
To deinstall Alias Reveal, simply remove it from the Extensions folder.
